Identified MM dps problem 5 months ago...

[:1]
At the moment, Survival actually has the highest dps in raid gear, though the other specs are within 2K or so. It's unlikely we'll juice Survival's damage until we get more empirical data from players. Players sometimes surprise us with gear, rotation or talent choices which lead to different numbers than we predicted. We are going to make Lock and Load reset the Explosive Shot cooldown when it procs.

This was posted September 30th of 2010 by GhostCrawler. Using what rotations or talent choices is MM anywhere near 2k of the dps survival can do in "raid gear"? Is this on a dummy or in a raid setting that you were speaking of? I know this was quite a while ago but Aimed Shot is still horrible, live and on the PTR and I really do wish MM would be viable again. I'm just wondering (and not trolling) if this was known in September why do the same flaws still exist? I know you aren't magicians (at least not all of you) but you're not sloths either. :P
It's super early in the morning (roomate is being loud and keeping me up) but if anyone was coming close to SV damage as MM, then they either had someone who didn't know how to play the class playing, or someone that was really good tested MM and someone that was really bad tested SV.
In my current gear I do about 16k dps unbuffed as Surv. I do 13.5 as mm in the same gear. Granted this is on a test dummy, but mm is not as bad as everyone seems to think pre 4.06
I don't understand your problem. There will always be on spec in every class that is better than the other two. Just because you like MM, and SV is doing better does not mean there are problems with MM.

Plus this was in SEPTEMBER, before cata hit the shelves. If you believe that Blizzard ships out complete games that everything is working correctly please head over to Tol Barrard.

This is a silly post, MM will be getting a boost in two days, thats TWO days!

Just remember "what happens on the PTR, stays on the PTR." it does not exists until it goes live. This was in September, so that means he was talking about level 80 (current level cap in September) or was discussing the PTR. As I believe he was discussing the PTR, I am happy SV got a chance to shine. Having SV as a viable spec in 5 mans was great(2 CC, having an excuse not to have to interrupt). Now that we are moving in to raiding, MM gets a chance to shine, and I am good with that.
Current theorycrafting and sims show MM ahead by over 5k dps in 359 gear by hard casting that crappy AiS.
